Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Last year, many female users of Facebook participated in a little game for breast cancer awareness. In this game, women put on their status the color of their bra, without indicating what that color was for. Was one of those who participated.

This year, another game asked for women to put into their status where they would like to place their bra. On the floor. On the kitchen sink. On the bed. All sounded so suggestive.

I did not participate.

What do lewd status messages have to do with breast cancer awareness? These not only keep males in the dark, it also makes them post equally lewd status messages. Thereby cheapening breast cancer.

Joined BloggersUnite in the hopes of finding a better alternative to spreading awareness. Breast cancer is a serious disease that affects families: wives, husbands and children. While BloggersUnite talks about national breast cancer awareness (national being the United States?), it is an international issue that women all over the world are now talking about. This is probably the bright side to those lewd Facebook status messages. Women remembered. But at least, other people now know when to take it seriously.
